LARSON® Insulating Storm Windows Limited Warranty

Owner-Occupied Single Family Residence

LARSON® Insulating Storm Windows are designed to create lasting value for your home. This warranty is effective for Insulating Storm Windows manufactured on or after January 1, 2019 for use in the United States. Any previous warranties will continue to apply to products manufactured by LARSON prior to this date. For additional information, including care and maintenance instructions, installation instructions, and previous warranties, refer to LarsonDoors.com.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS

Your exclusive remedy is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective product. Except as set forth in the Special Coverage section below, we warrant that if your LARSON Insulating Storm Window exhibits a defect in material or workmanship within the time period from the date of manufacture as specified below, upon written proof of purchase we will at our option, repair, replace or refund the purchase price of the Product or Component Part, or provide a partial reimbursement toward a replacement LARSON product. Installation is not included.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER

LARSON is not liable for damage, product failure or poor product performance due to:

  • Normal wear and tear, including normal wear and tear of weatherstrip; natural weathering of surfaces.
  • Normal wear and tear to hardware and naturally occurring changes to hardware finishes (e.g. corrosion or tarnishing).
  • Exposure to chemicals (e.g. brick wash) or a harsh environment (e.g. certain coastal environments/salt spray, acid rain, or airborne pollutants) unless otherwise stated above.
  • Misuse, abuse or failure to properly provide maintenance.
  • Alteration or modification of the Product (e.g. customer applied tints or films, paint finishes, security systems, size alterations).
  • Damage attributable to acts of nature (e.g. fire, hurricane, flood, earthquake, etc.), acts of third parties (e.g. civil disorder), building settling, structural failures of walls or foundations, improper installation, installation mishaps, storage, or handling.
  • Improper installation not in conformance with LARSON installation instructions (note: see LarsonDoors.com for installation instructions); operational problems and problems related to water and/or air infiltration/leaking as a result of improper installation or flaws in building design or construction.
  • Condensation or damage as a result of condensation. (Note: most condensation problems are related to excessive humidity levels in a structure. Contact a heating/air conditioning specialist for help).

     

    LARSON is also not liable for:

  • Glass breakage (except as specifically covered above).
  • Screen damage due to normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, or insect or animal activity.
  • Any product that has been modified.
  • Slight imperfections or wavy distortions in the glass that don’t impair structural integrity. (Note: wavy distortions in the glass (e.g. related to heat strengthening of glass) are not considered a defect. Slight color variations in glass are not considered a defect).
  • Damage or distortion to other property, including but not limited to vinyl siding, prime windows, building components or landscaping caused in whole or in part by reflection of light or heat from LARSON Insulating Storm Windows.
  • Water damage or distortion to other property, particularly but not exclusively due to lack of rain diversion or structural overhang, including but not limited to damage to window sills and trim, interior materials and finishes.
  • Labor and materials for repainting or refinishing activities, or the removal or disposal of defective product(s).
  • Incidental or consequential damage. Some states/provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this may not apply to you.
  • This warranty is non-transferable. It applies to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase is required.

 

WARRANTY CLAIMS

To make a claim under this warranty, visit LARSONdoors.com and complete a warranty claim form, or call our Customer Care Department at 800-352-3360 and a form will be mailed to you. Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty replacement. Please provide the registration number, located on the glass.

 SCENIX WARRANTY

 

LARSON® warrants the Scenix™ frame to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, paint adhesion, or workmanship, under normal use, for a period of ten years from the date of original retail purchase.

 

RETRACTABLE SCREEN: LARSON® warrants the retractable screen to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, under normal use, and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of original retail purchase.

 

COMPONENTS: LARSON® warrants the components, including glass sash, to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, under normal use, and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of original retail purchase. Upon written proof of purchase LARSON will provide a replacement component.

 

Warranty Limitations:

• Warranty only applies to original homeowners of owner-occupied residential properties and covers manufacturer’s defects.

• Modification of product will void warranty.

• Damage or breakage of the screen/glass sash is not covered under warranty.

GENERAL CARE & MAINTENANCE

GLASS Wash using household glass cleaner or a warm water/mild detergent mixture and a soft cloth or paper towel. A solution of four parts water/one part vinegar may also be used. 
FRAME For general cleaning use the following:
• Liquid soap and water solution
• Formula 409®, Windex®, Fantastik®, Simple Green® or similar product Always follow manufacturer's directions.
Using a soft, clean cloth, apply the cleaner and clean only a small portion of the surface. After cleaning, rinse the surface completely. Never use acetone or products containing esters, ethers, ketones, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
       

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Sashes do not operate Ensure the shipping clips have been removed.
Release the sash lock on the left hand side of the panel.
Sashes do not operate smoothly Ensure the unit is level and plumb in the opening.
Screen does not retract Pull down on the screen a few inches and then release to reset the tension
Screen comes out of the track  To reset the screen, close the sashes completely. Slowly open the sashes allowing the screen to reset in the track.

The five year limited warranty applies to the original purchaser of owner occupied homes and covers mechanical components excluding screen fabrics. LARSON warrants the cassette, mounting rails and latch to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, paint adhesion or workmanship, under normal use, for the period stated above.

The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of owner occupied homes and covers mechanical components excluding screen fabrics. LARSON warrants the screen housing, mounting rails and latch to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, paint adhesion or workmanship, under normal use, for the period stated above.

Fading is only covered by this warranty during the first year. In order to obtain performance under this limited warranty, the original owner shall notify LARSON with proof of purchase. The obligations of this warranty will be completed within ninety (90) days after notice of a defect or malfunction has been furnished directly to LARSON.

The following are limitations and exclusions from the warranty:

  • If usage, adaptation, or installation are not in accordance with LARSON installation and operation instructions.
  • If the products have been used to perform functions they were not designed to perform.
  • Damage due to acts of nature, abuse, or misuse.
  • Damage including tears to the screen are not covered under warranty.
  • Acts of nature including wind damage and flooding are not covered under warranty.
  • Damages resulting from improper installation or misuse are not covered under the warranty.
  • Labor cost, reinstallation fees are not covered under warranty.
  • Water damage due to lack of rain diversion or structural overhang is not covered under warranty.

offered by KeepSafe® Glass. Terms and conditions are outlined on the KeepSafe Warranty card. A written

claim for the Break-in Protection Warranty must be submitted to Solutia at KeepSafe, Dept. 204, P.O. Box

During the life of the door or window product, Larson Manufacturing Company will warrant manufacturer’s defects as listed below. A shipping and processing fee may apply.

Door Frame
LARSON® warrants the door frame and mounting rails to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, paint adhesion, or workmanship, under normal use, for the life of the door or window product.

Components
LARSON warrants the components of the door or window product, including hardware, retainer strips, screw covers, closers, and locksets (mechanical operation and finish) to be free from defects in manufacturing, materials, tarnishing and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of the original retail purchase. Notwithstanding the forgoing, nothing contained herein shall cover damage to the glass or screen, such as cracks, scratching, or other items of normal wear and tear.
In the event of a defect in manufacturing, materials or workmanship within the limited warranty period, and upon written proof of purchase, LARSON, at its option, will provide a replacement component or provide a credit toward a replacement product, as long as the original purchaser owns the home in which the door was initially installed. Installation is not included.
Any implied warranty, including the implied warranty or fitness of a particular use or purpose and the implied warranty of merchantability, is limited in duration to the express warranty provided herein unless a shorter period is permitted by law. LARSON shall not be liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages to the building, its contents or its occupants, however arising. This Limited Warranty contains all the provisions of your remedies. Liability is limited to the provisions of this Limited Warranty, whether any claim against it is based on strict liability, negligence, breach of warranty, if this Limited Warranty shall fail its essential purpose or any other theory or cause of action.

Platinum Collection Break-In Protection
LARSON warrants, to the original purchaser of a Platinum Secure Glass or Platinum Secure Screen door that, for the life of the door, LARSON will reimburse the original purchaser 100% of the insurance deductible, up to a maximum of $1,000, to the extent such loss arises out of a burglary due to an entry through failed laminated glass or steel screen of the Platinum Collection security door.

This warranty is effective for SecurePRO Windows manufactured on or after January 1, 2019 for use in the United States. Warranty Limitations
Warranty for LARSON Security Door and Window products shall not by liable for any losses resulting from the following:

  • Acts of God
  • Damage attributable to acts of nature (e.g. fire, hurricane, flood, earthquake), acts of third parties (e.g. civil disorder)
  • Alterations made to the glass or frame after installation, including structural changes to the home, application of paint or caustic cleaning solutions, coatings or other modifications
  • Normal wear and tear, including natural weathering of surfaces
  • Damages resulting from improper installation or misuse, abuse or failure to properly provide maintenance
  • Damages or breakage to screen or glass insert except as described in the Platinum Collection Break-In Protection provisions
  • Slight imperfections or wavy distortions in the glass that don’t impair structural integrity (Note: wavy distortions in the glass (e.g. related to heat strengthening of glass) are not considered a defect. Slight color variations in glass are not considered a defect)
  • Damages caused by chemicals or other airborne pollutants, including, but not limited to, salt or acid rain
  • Losses resulting from water and/or flooding damage​

  • Labor costs and other indirect costs of replacing components or door frame and hinges​
