FAQ (before you buy...)

• How many codes can I program into the eTouch lock?
  The eTouch lock can be programmed for up to 10 user codes. It’s easy to add new codes or reset old codes. Refer to eTouch user guide for more information on how to change codes.
• What if my batteries go dead? Will I lose my programmed codes?
  All programmed user codes (user codes and master code) are stored to non-volatile memory.  A dead battery will not change the codes. Simply, install four new AAA Lithium batteries and your old codes will be recovered.
• Can I use any AAA battery?
  Like most electronic devices, Lithium batteries should be used. Lithium batteries will last longer and retain enough power to operate the lock at extreme temperatures.
• If I leave my home for an extended period of time, will the batteries still work when I return?
  When operating normally, the lock does not draw any power when it is not in use.  Therefore, if the lock is working fine without any low battery indication upon leaving, it should work upon return.  If the Low Battery or Critical Battery Warning indicator lights up before departure, the batteries should be replaced prior to departure. A warning signal is designed to give you ample notice to replace the batteries.
• What do I do in case of an emergency and need to get out of my home?
  The eTouch lock features a one-touch interior lock and unlock function for quick release. In case of dead battery, a manual release function is also incorporated below the inside plate.
• What happens when the batteries are low?
  Low battery is indicated with both an audible tone and a red light on the inside quick release feature. If you use the recommended lithium batteries, you can expect the batteries to last over 2000 cycles.
• How does the screen “disappear?”
  The screen is housed in a hidden cassette at the top of the door. When not in use, it rolls up and is protected behind a slim cassette to give a clear view of the outdoors. To ventilate, simply pull down the window sash and the screen appears. Stop at any position for multiple ventilating options.
• Can I set the ventilating position?
  Yes. With the balanced window system you can pull the screen down to any position in the upper half of the window opening. Just release the window and it will stay in place.
• Over time, will the screen wear out?
  Only Larson screens are heat welded to protect the edge that is connected to the window sash. Additionally, the screen is held into place with weatherstripping that grips the screen as it glides up and down. When the screen is pushed in or out, it will release from the weatherstripping and give way to prevent damage. By simply moving the screen up and down it will re-set itself. Retractable screen are more protected than traditional screens.
• Can the screen be replaced?
  Yes. Retractable screens are more protected than fixed screens and will require less maintenance. In the instance a tear or cut would appear, replacement kits can be ordered.
• Who can install the door?
  With Larson's EasyHang system, you may choose to install the door yourself. Only Larson doors offer the easy-hang system, full color installation instructions, and a no-cut mounting rail. For you, this means no guesswork and a tight fit every time. If you choose to have someone install it for you, contact your local dealer for installer suggestions.
• Does this door come with screw cover caps?
  Yes. Screw cap covers hide installation screws on the exterior of the door for a finished look.
• Does this door add energy efficiency?
  Yes. All storm doors add an extra layer of protection and create a dead air space between the storm and the entry door which blocks air movement. In addition, this model features an overlapping edge to seal out weather, dust and bugs. The stronger the window blows, the tighter the door seals to your opening. Double weatherstripping is applied to all sides of the frame for added protection.
• Can I get different finishes?
  Yes, other models offer the same door in different finishes. This model comes with brass finishes. For brushed nickel, see 355-52.

Caring for your door (after you buy...)

• Can I replace the screen?
  Screen replacement kits are available for your door. See parts order section.
• How do I clean my door?
  • Glass: Wash glass using a household glass cleaner, or a warm water/mild detergent mixture, and a soft cloth or paper towel. Acetone may also be used.
  • Hinges/Hardware: Hinges and door hardware may require occasional lubrication. A silicone spray lubricant is recommended.
  • Door Finish: Non-abrasive paste wax may be used on your door's outer surface to help keep the finish looking new. (Follow directions on the product's label.) Rubbing alcohol or turpentine could also be used for tough stains.
• How do I maintain my handle finish?
  1. Wash brass hardware using a warm water/mild detergent mixture, and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cloths as they may damage the clear coat finish.
  2. Apply non-abrasive paste wax on the brass hardware to help restore its bright finish.
